News From Justin & Danielle Sauder

Missionaries serving in Zambia

God has been very good to us. About six weeks ago, we had a young man visit the church. He came after the service and told me he wanted to know more about Jesus. Several days later, after explaining from the Bible the truths found in God’s Word, we saw this young man named Cornelius come to know Jesus as his personal Savior. He has not missed a worship service since that time, and recently we baptized him along with six other new believers.

Last week, I received a phone call from Cornelius that his nephew had died. We visited the family and learned that there was really no church involved in the funeral. We used this as an opportunity to minister to this family and preach the Gospel. I believe the Lord used the words that were spoken because the mother of the young boy who died, came to church for the first time this Sunday. Please pray for us as we follow up with this family and that the Gospel will penetrate their hearts!

Missionaries To Zambia on Furlough

Photo of 5 children walking together.Bob and Jody Hayton have been missionaries in Zambia for over twenty years. The Lord has used them mightily to pioneer new territory, see thousands set free from Satan’s bondage, and to lead in the planting of many churches.

The Haytons are home for a short furlough. They already have meetings scheduled in Alabama, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin. The Sauders are also coming home for a short furlough. If you are interested in having the Haytons or the Sauders at your church please contact me.

Dear Praying Friends,
We are so thankful to everyone who has been lifting us up in prayer to our intervening Savior. God has been very good to us. About six weeks ago, we had a young man visit the church. Several days later, after explaining from the Bible the truths found in God’s Word, we saw this young man named Cornelius come to know Jesus as his personal Savior. Mr. Chisanga’s Funeral service

Recently, we have had three funerals associated with our ministry. One funeral was for an older man named Mr. Chisanga. I had many Bible studies with this brother while living in Zambia for the past two years, and Mr. Chisanga always gave a solid testimony of salvation. He had, however, never been Scripturally baptized; and it was my pleasure to baptize him. Sadly, we have had to say goodbye on this earth. We had the funeral service, and probably four hundred or more people came. During the period of time known as the “three days of mourning” in Zambian culture, several people made professions of faith; and for that, we are truly grateful. We rejoice in the hope that we will see Mr. Chisanga again.

In my last prayer letter, I asked that you pray for Danielle’s health. For the last nine months, we have struggled to get a diagnosis for the type of autoimmune disease she has. After much counsel from other doctors here and in the States, we feel it is best for us to take an early furlough to make sure we get her health back in order. To our knowledge, she has no major damage to any organs or anything; however, if this problem were to flare up, such damage could occur. If we can know for sure what the problem is, we can take measures to mitigate this possibility. We already have purchased airplane tickets for the flight to the United States and should be arriving the end of August. It is our desire that we can return to Zambia sometime in February. Please pray for us as we prepare for this unplanned furlough. God has sent us some special fellow laborers from the Philippines: The Cuaterno family will be watching over the work here in Zambia while we are away. We will be trying to visit many of our supporting churches while we are in the United States. If you would definitely like to have us give an update during this time, please email me.

Thank you for your love and support for our ministry! God is doing amazing things in this world, and we are honored to be a part of it. Seeing souls come to know Him as Savior is indescribable. May we all be actively witnessing in our own realm of influence and seeking to win the lost for Christ.

Dear Friends in Christ,
It’s harvest time in Zambia, and village farmers are moving throughout the area with oxcarts full of maize. Pastor Sianjomwa stated that this is the best harvest he has seen in three years. We plant the seed; God sends the sunshine and rain. We tend the fields, and God gives the increase.

Men carrying melonsIn mid May a soulwinning conference was held in Maala. Six preachers from the Toka Leya tribe came to help teach the church members there how to reach out with the gospel. The Maala congregation worked hard to extend hospitality and prepare for a crowd. The conference had just begun when word was received that Namaambo, a 29 year old mother of three, had passed away. The conference was halted as she was laid to rest. The village pastors preached the gospel at the funeral. The family was comforted with the knowledge that Namaambo had been saved last year. Many of the family were from the other side of the Kafue River, and several of them turned to Christ and spiritually bonded with the church family. Contact details were exchanged and another Romans 15:20 opportunity presented itself.

The chief was touched by the compassion shown by the preachers at this funeral, and he gave each of the them some pumpkins from his garden.

Men unloading truck full of BiblesOn a recent journey to the village of Mundundu, I watched folks carry hot coals on a large piece of tree bark and put it in the center of a log pile. The tree bark, ignited by the hot coals, became the catalyst for a roaring fire. We have been entrusted with the hot coals of the gospel of Christ. Thank you for your prayers and support; thank you for fanning the flame.

Speaking of harvest, we have just been resupplied with seed. The seven ton shipment of Bibles, scripture booklets, Bible dictionaries, English dictionaries, and commentaries has arrived! Thank you to all who labored so hard to make this a reality. Now please pray to the God of the harvest for wisdom, direction, protection, and increase as we plant the seed of the gospel of Christ.

Yours in Christ,

Robert Hayton

Church Planting, Really?

By John Yingling, General Director

Photo of Dr. John YinglingChurch planting seems to be the buzzword for missions today among Independent Baptists. Raising support can be a tough venture at present, especially if you cannot drop the term “church planting” somewhere along the line. The measure of missionary “success” nowadays is usually measured by churches established. While this may be an indication of a work of God it may not necessarily be so. Nowhere in the Great Commission will you find a command to plant churches.

Missionary Highlight
Yohanness & Kidist Getaneh

Picture of the Getaneh Family

Yohannes and Kidist

Please pray for Yohannes and Kidist Getaneh. God has used this family in a remarkable way among the Deaf of Zambia. There is a viable movement of God happening in this country among the Deaf. At least 23 churches have been established. God is doing great things. Now the Deaf of Zambia are reaching out to the Deaf in other African Nations.

Satan is attempting to stop this great work. It is not wise to elaborate in this format. Yet, the need for prayer along the lines of 1 Timothy 2:2 is great.

Missionary Humor

There was a missionary who was greatly relieved to learn that a tropical depression was a meteorological term.

David desired to build a habitation for God. God spoke very clearly to David. “For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.” (1 Chronicles 17:5) God later asked King David, “Have I ever asked anyone to build me a house?” (I Chronicles 17:6) But then, God gave David the most wonderful promise:

…I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house. And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee: But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore. 1 Chronicles 17:10b-14

Immediately Solomon and his Temple come into mind, but Solomon was not the fulfillment of this promise. He was only the type. His kingdom was temporary; his temple destroyed. The fulfillment of this promise can only be Jesus Christ, and the Temple or habitation of God is His Church. Ephesians 2:19-22 makes this abundantly clear.

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Where the church is first mentioned (Matthew 16:18) Christ declares that it is He, Himself that will build His Church. The Law of First Mention demands that this principle be applied. Our Lord did not command his disciples to build churches. He commanded that they preach and teach (i.e., proclaim and mentor – 1 Corinthians 1:21 and 2 Timothy 2:2). The Lord of the Harvest does the building through the Spirit of God. This should be our mission and our focus.

The result will be a genuine movement of God; a movement that transcends any culture and any personality. I have witnessed on two occasions a local church established by the witness of a godly lady. Neither single missionary lady set out to plant a church. They set out to lift up Jesus where they were planted and He built His local church.

Let us follow the pattern of the Antioch church in Acts 13. “…They ministered to the Lord and fasted…” The rest is history. Jesus is the Lord of the Harvest, the Head of the Body, the Church Planter!

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” Revelation 21:2-3

DeafNation World Expo Ministry Opportunity

DeafNation World Expo is an international event held every two years in Las Vegas. DeafNation World Expo 2012 is July 29th through August 1st. The event organizers are expecting nearly 30,000 Deaf from more than 70 countries in attendance. God is bringing the mission field of the deaf world to our doorstep.

BIO Director of Deaf Ministries, David Peach, is partnering with a team of 35 other Christians to distribute Gospel tracts and DVDs. There is complete freedom to share the Gospel with Deaf who may not have the chance to learn about God in their own country. Missionaries from four different mission boards are working together on the team lead by Silent Word Ministries International Director, David Bennett.

“…brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:” 2 Thessalonians 3:1
